ADULT CLASSES

Created for Praise: Thinking Biblically about Worship

Mike Fike
Meadowview Room

We all have our ideas and opinions about what makes for "good" worship. We would add to, change or even throw out certain features of our corporate worship. In this class, rather than consider our own personal preferences, we will search the Scriptures and confessions, examine historical and contemporary worship practices, even evaluate our own hearts, seeking to discover if God has revealed to His covenant people the patterns, principles and rhythms of worship that are acceptable not to us, but to Him. (Hebrews 12:28-29)

Many Faiths. One Jesus

Pastor Bob Lynn
Garden Room

We live in a pluralist society of many cultures and many faiths. Religious traditions like Hinduism and Islam aren't just across an ocean but down the block. What does the Bible have to say about other religious paths? Are the world's many religious traditions simply different paths to the same destination? Join us we consider what it means to say "Jesus is the way" in a world that offers us many ways.

Growing in the Gospel: Sanctification by Faith

Steve Telian
Music Room

How do you think of the Christian life? A lot of sweaty effort that leads to little or no life change? Onerous rule-keeping that seems pretty joyless in the end? Life pretty much lived in what seems like the valley - a really deep valley - punctuated by very rare mountain top experiences? This class explores what it means to live on a daily basis by faith in Jesus as he is revealed to us in the gospel and discovering the kind of life Jesus has promised us as God's adopted children. Real joy and real change as we follow Christ aren't just empty hopes but promised gifts.
