May 23, 2010 “The Joy of Discipling Our Money” is part 6 of 6 in the Discipling Our Money series. Series description: In many ways, money might be the “last taboo” in our society. We talk about the most private of subjects publicly now, but money is not one of them. Even as Christians, we believe in loving accountability in almost everything except how much money we make, spend, save and give. And yet, we seem like a financially sick society. Historically, the more we make, the less we give. The more we get, the more we want. And everyone wants more from us. We’re money addicts.
In this series, we try to bring money back into the realm of ordinary life that needs to be cleansed, restored and freed by Jesus. We want to address it just as we would any other part of life that needs to be redeemed by grace. In short, we want to figure out together how to treat our money as just another aspect of following Jesus.
