On Sunday, April 30th, Knox will have the opportunity to express hospitality to those in need in Burundi and support our missionaries there. We will forego snacks for one week in order to provide food to patients at the Kibuye Hope Hospital.

This simple sacrifice will demonstrate our awareness of justice issues and concern for people beyond our walls.

On the tables in Knox Hall, during the Coffee Connection time, there will be informative displays about:

• The Inpatient Hospital Feeding Program which provides two meals a day to patients who otherwise have to depend on family members for food.

• The Outpatient Malnutrition Program which provides a meal to patients twice a week and 1kg of Busoma (nutritional porridge) to take home.

The annual cost of the Hospital Feeding Program is ~ $75,000.

The annual cost of the Malnutrition Program is ~ $26,400.

The Knox Missions Committee will match our donations so the impact could be substantial!

How can you respond to this opportunity?

  • You could donate loose change or cash that would cover the cost of your Sunday morning snack for a day or a year (about $.50 per person per Sunday).
  • You could write a check to Knox Church with Burundi in the memo line.
  • You could donate online to the Burundi Hospital project.

All donations should be made by Friday, May 5.
