FAQ

WHAT IS A PRESBYTERY? Presbytery is the regional governing and missional body of our denomination, the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC). Knox is a member of the Presbytery of the Midwest. This includes churches from Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.

WHY DOES IT MEET? Three times per year, members of Presbytery gather to conduct essential business of the church, examine and ordain pastoral candidates, and care for pastors and churches in a number of different ways. Faithful church leaders from EPC churches like Knox across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana come not only do this important work, but also to be refreshed, encouraged, and renewed for ministry.

HOW CAN YOU CONNECT? The pastors and elders who will meet here are our “extended family.” We may not see them often but they’re an important part of who we are. Our presbytery has served us in so many ways over the years. This is one way we can give something back to them. Making Knox a place of welcome and hospitality as these church leaders are with us is one important way we can thank them for their work on behalf of all the churches in our presbytery.

There are many ways that you may participate, from Friday noon through Saturday noon, May 18-19. You may serve as a…

  • greeter
  • usher
  • set-up and take-down helper
  • food preparer/server
  • host of overnight out-of-town guests

Everyone at Knox is also warmly urged to join in the all-presbytery worship service on Friday evening at 7:00 PM.
