On Sunday morning, Aug. 27th, after the worship service, Tom McLeish, Professor of Physics at Durham University, will present a lecture, “Can Medievals Teach Us Anything About Faith and Science?”

Far from being  intellectually “dead”, medieval thinkers laid the groundwork for the birth of modern science, by engaging the entire scope of human inquiry, from theology, to philosophy to the natural world.   Examples of the richness of thought in the medieval and pre-medieval periods will be given, as well as their relevance to the interaction of science and religion today.  The medieval era shows the close interactions between theology and science, and how each can benefit the other.

Join us in the Music Room at 11:15 AM.
