One of the great gifts of the ancient Jews and the early Christians is the notion of a hopeful future. We’ve traded it in for a sunny optimism rooted in progress. But our sense of the future has been mugged by reality leaving us with little hope. The Bible suggests that real hope is possible because of what God has promised in Jesus.
