When you read, sing or pray the Psalms do you see Jesus in your devotion? The ancient church had a saying, “Always a Psalm in the mouth, always Christ in the heart.” And throughout history, the Psalms have served as both a hymnbook and a prayer book for the church. Therefore, when the Psalms are read in a Christ-centered way, they hold enormous power to shape and form us spiritually.
This class will look closely at several Psalms to begin to answer questions such as:
- How do I correctly connect a Psalm written by an ancient author to Jesus?
- How do I better apply this Psalm to my own life and my ministry to others?
- How can the Psalms deepen and enrich my devotional and worship life?
In order to answer these questions, we will explore Psalms that are both directly messianic and some that are indirectly related to Jesus.
