Getting a place to live after having no home is a blessing, but suddenly needing many household items is costly!  Our Knox Deacons encourage us to bless those transitioning out of homelessness by partnering with Staples Center to send clients off with “Blessing Baskets”.  Staples Center in Ann Arbor is a ministry of the Salvation Army, a long-time Knox Community Partner.  Staples is unique in that it offers short-term shelter for families and individuals in an environment that is much like a traditional home.

In order to help clients who are moving into their own home, would you purchase a few extra items when you shop this month?  Every little bit helps!  Donated items will be collected at the Deacons’ display table in the Atrium for two more Sundays.

Suggested items to donate:

  • laundry basket
  • laundry detergent
  • multi-surface cleaner
  • sponges
  • cleaning rags
  • paper towels
  • toilet bowl brush
  • toilet bowl cleaner
  • abrasive cleaner
  • dish soap
  • dish scrubber
  • mop
  • wastebasket
  • garbage bags
  • bucket
  • broom
  • dust pan
  • reusable shopping bags
