The Family Learning Institute (FLI) is a local volunteer-based non-profit agency dedicated to closing the achievement gap in Washtenaw County. They offer free tutoring in the areas of reading and math for students in grades 2-5 from economically disadvantaged families and are struggling in school. FLI is currently looking for more volunteer tutors!

This year, all tutoring will happen at various Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti elementary schools between 4:00-6:00 PM on Monday–Thursday. New tutor training sessions will be held September 18 or 20, 2018. Applications are on the FLI website:

If you’d like to speak with someone at Knox about tutoring at FLI, feel free to contact Rolina Painter, Betty Merritt, or Janet Chen

Thank you for considering this opportunity!
